1. We park at one of the car parks on the A470 main road to the north of Blaenau Ffestiniog town. Hopping over the fence we ascend quickly to meet the marked footpath to the summit of Allt Fawr, with the view over Blaenau to our left.
2. The 360 views from the top of Allt Fawr are incredible, and it’s a hard summit to leave. From there we head east, taking in Moel Druman and Ysgafell Wen as well as dog legging a bit to see a few of the many small lakes up here.
3. Heading north after Ysgafell Wen we follow the ridge off trail all the way down to the valley floor and cross over the Afon Lledr river.
4. After a short bit of incline the miners path levels out as it wraps around Moel Dyrnogydd back to the beginning.
